Default Spawning log - Queensland Dottyback

]Fish: Beauty and Beast - Queensland dottybacks, Ogilbyina queenslandiae
Purchased: 1-8-10 from Seascape Studio

Paired: 1-8-10

Notes: I've had my eye on the male for a while now, since I first saw him at Seascape, but dismissed buying him because I already have too many fish in the cube and dottybacks have the reputation for being slightly boisterous. Tonight when I was picking up the scooter blennies I noticed a smaller, slightly less colorful queensland dottyback in another tank. I carefully introduced them to see what would happen and they took to each other like birds to water Video of the introduction can be seen here. We'll see what happens with these guys...hopefully they start spawning soon and I'll take a crack at raising some dottybacks

Male - Beast, looking a little mad in the acclimation bucket

Female -Beauty, looking equally peeved.

*please note that the specks you see on her flank is not anything on the fish, it's particulate matter in the water

Just a small update, or lack thereof. These guys are in a 55 gallon tank and still aren't spawning. That being said, they're no longer beating the tar out of each other either. Dottybacks are a little tricky, hopefully I can get them spawning sooner rather than later.

I used to have a pair of neon dottybacks, I lost them in a tank crash. Miss them dearly.
